CSI:New York
Season 2 -
Episode 7 -
Manhattan Manhunt
(part two of the CSI: MIAMI/CSI: NY crossover episode)
Written by Anthony E. Zuiker, Ann Donahue, Elizabeth Devine
Directed by Rob Bailey
Mayhem is the air as we dive down in to a Manhattan mansion to find CSI
Miami Lieutenant Horatio Caine and NY CSI Detective Mac Taylor standing
over yet another blood bath that sociopath Henry Darius has wrought:
this time it’s high end high schoolers in the midst of a pill popping “pharm”
party at the Endecott mansion. The scene is a blood bath: six kids shot
in the back of the head, execution style, blood and bits of skull dot
the floor. Upstairs they discover the body of Alexa Endecott, the coed
Darius had kidnapped in Florida at the entrance to her family’s now
empty safe. The walls smeared with her blood in a cruel Picasso flair.
Both Mac and Horatio instantly know it’s the work of Darius and the
ruthlessness of the scene suggests that the killer is driven by demons
far stronger than a love of money and that he has no intention of
leaving the island before he strikes again.
The entire New York Crime Lab comes together to help: Stella teams up
with Horatio to find the connection between Darius and a previously
unsolved murder in Miami as Danny, Hawkes and Lindsay work overtime at
the lab. The trail of the killer leads Mac and Horatio to a psychiatrist
who couldn’t keep a confidence, and a young heiress who couldn’t just
wait for her inheritance. As pieces of evidence come into context and
the CSIs begin to close in, they discover that the twisted motivation
for Darius’ crimes is closer than anybody would have thought. The action
comes to a shocking climax in a high-octane chase from New York’s packed
subways to its panoramic rooftops, ultimately bringing our CSIs face to
face with a killer more disturbed than Mac and Horatio have ever
confronted.
Horatio works to find the connection between Darius and the murder of a
young mother in Miami, determined to give the victim’s 8-year old son
closure. But as he gets closer to putting a killer behind bars, Horatio
finds his own past flooding back to haunt him, and unable to escape, he
remembers that New York holds many memories for him… not all of them
good.
