CSI:New YorkSeason 3 - Episode 18 - Sleight Out Of Hand
Written by John Dove and Zachary Reiter
Stella and Mack investigate a case in which a woman is cut in half in a
box at one of New York’s popular magic shows. When Danny arrives at the
scene he lifts a shoe impression print. Back at the lab, Sid confirms
that the victim has a tattoo that reads Mind, Body, and Spirit which is
only visible under fluorescent light. Hawkes ties prints on the box to
magician Rupert Lanigan. Stella states that Rupert has a record for
stalking the victim whose name is confirmed as Vienna Hyatt. Lanigan
says that he sold the wooden box to superstar magician Luke Blade and
that Vienna was his assistant. Danny questions Blade who said he had to
fire Vienna when she violated a sacred confidentiality agreement.
Meanwhile, Danny sees one of Blade’s colleagues who has the same size
foot as the shoe impression taken from the scene of the crime. Danny
later ties Austin to being at the scene because of shoe imprints. Stella
realizes that Austin and Vienna were dating, but that Austin broke up
with Vienna when he found out that she was sleeping with Blade. However,
when the team rushes to find Austin they realize that he is dead. During
one of Blade’s magic shows, Austin did a stunt where he was lit on fire
and died as a result. However, when the team locates a magic wand at the
scene with prints that lead back to Luke’s father who has a bunch of
prison time under his belt they wonder if the father and son duo is
behind the string of magic-inspired murders. |
