“Danny
Messer” (Carmine
Giovinazzo)
Third Grade Detective Danny Messer brings his Staten Island routes to
the New York City Crime Lab.
Growing up in a family under surveillance,
Danny formulated his own set of hybrid ethics, blending the world of
law-breakers with the world of lawmakers.
Mac personally selected Danny to join his team, an honor and
responsibility that Danny attempts to live up to every day.

Born in Staten Island, New York, Carmine Giovinazzo dreamed of playing
professional baseball but that was put aside in favor of acting when he
suffered a back injury in college. In 1997, he left his native New York
to try his luck in Los Angeles. He appeared in short and independent
films before getting his break in the pilot episode of "Buffy the
Vampire Slayer".
Carmine can now be seen as Danny Messer on the Jerry Bruckheimer
produced "C.S.I.: NY" on CBS. Giovinazzo's role as a CSI investigator
with a long history of family in law enforcement mirror's his real life
family situation as both his father and sister were NYPD officers and
his brother-in-law was a detective assigned for former NYC mayor Rudy
Giuliani.
His feature film credits include Ridley Scott' "Blackhawk Down", "In
Enemy Hands", "For the Love of the Game" opposite Kevin Costner,"The Red
Zone", "Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss" and "The Big Brass Ring".
Television credits include guest - starring roles in "The Guardian" and
"CSI", both on CBS, as well as "UC:Undercover" and "Providence".
Carmine, who is not only brilliant as an actor, also has a passion for
painting, poetry, and playing the guitar. He currently lives in Los
Angeles.
